Fifth day! This is going better than I was anticipating, honestly. Today's Moonlight Garden again, early on in the plot, so no real spoilers here! There's some knife play, however...

In fact, let me just toss this out there: Harusa flower maiden/Moonlight Garden AU. I’m thinking plumeria (very attached to this one for Usagi...), chrysanthemum, yellow lilies or orchids as possibilities for either of them.

There’s a few possibilities here…

If Usagi is the flower maiden:
-Something close to Moonlight Garden canon (just transplanted to the Silver Millennium?/the moon palace as the brothel?), going through pre-first blooming for Usagi and up to it, she’d probably be pulled between romantic ideas of a nice, rich patron and also wanting a better/different life. Haruka is either high enough rank to have the money to afford going to the brothel, perhaps sees her the first time at her first blooming and you go from there, OR she does NOT have the standing or money, and we’re talking angsty pining and sneaking around, love hidden in the shadows and a fear of being discovered.

-Less close to the canon setting, Usagi still as the princess she was during the Silver Millennium, just also dealing with the (future if it’s set before her first blooming, but I think it should be after it) realities of being a flower maiden and a princess of the moon, the future potential ruler - being a flower maiden something she needs to hide or not? salacious rumours about how well she’ll be able to rule, being ~indisposed~ once a month? Having her trusted bodyguard (Haruka of course) assist her, or we’re talking arranged marriages because as a flower maiden she HAS TO be married to someone who can assist and politics, etc.
(For this I’d probably forgo the “dies before 30″ part of the canon worldbuilding, I’m not that into angst and it would just take away from the rest of the plot.)

If Haruka is the flower maiden:
-again, something closer to Moonlight Garden canon, with Usagi, as the high-born lady she is, being introduced to the culture of noble women of the Moon to visit the ~Flower Garden or whatever. Though this would probably be more surprised!overwhelmed!Usagi being at the flustered but willing mercy of Haruka in bloom, hehe.
-less close to canon, Haruka hiding she is a flower maiden while trying to become one of the royal guards (pull in Haruka’s nonbinariness and have her crossdress to help her “not a flower maiden” schtick, which can be some angst over how it makes her too obviously female too and doesn’t let her be as fluid as she wants/feels she is?)? Usagi finding out and trying to be helpful finding ways to let Haruka stall/avoid blooming? These things being more or less successful and some very cute and shy first time as Usagi helps Haruka through at least one blooming :v

Yeah I’m just here for shippy goop (with some nice, desperate sex) so sue me. or save me. please. I'm dying.
